Make your own Fleece Hat

This is the information I give members of my Hat Club at school - so it seems to have been pretty fool-proof as members of the class have been 8 years old and they've made their own hats by hand (with help from Miss, of course!)

Hopefully anyone who's looking to have a go will find this helpful. I tried a lot of patterns before designing my final pattern, the pattern kindly offered by is great, I actually used it in the photos, although I cut it differently as I use a longer shape in my final design.

To make a hat you need: fleece material (50cm width from a roll will get you started nicely), scissors, pale coloured pencil (pastel pencil or tailor's chalk for the pros), needle/thread, sewing machine if you're in a rush, buttons/felt/beads/niknaks/llamas for facial decoration if needed.
